Six Korean Carriers' Investment Hits 1.4 Trl Won in 3Q 05

In the third quarter of 2005, the investment of top six Korean carriers totaled 1,434 billion won, in which KT accounted for 495 billion; SKT for 482 billion; KTF, 247 billion; LGT, 103 billion; Hanaro Telecom, 82 billion, and Dacom, 25 billion. Total investment recorded 40% sequential growth and 10% year-on-year growth. In addition to investment in emerging technologies such as WCDMA (Wideband Code-Division Multiple Access), WiBro (Wireless Broadband), and BcN (Broadband Convergence Network), they have been devoted to enhancing the quality of high speed networks.
